Upgrade Edgy

Well, you shouldn't be able to upgrade Edgy *to itsefl* i.e, security
updates and so forth, if Edgy has been end-of-lifed. Which it seems
that it has if updates can't find any packages.
But you should be able to dist-upgrade to feisty, then to gutsy,
hardy, etc. (Or reinstall hardy).
1) edit as root /etc/apt/sources.list. Change all references from edgy
to feisty.
2) save that file
3) sudo apt-get update
4) sudo apt-get dist-upgrade # now you should be running feisty
If that works, then repeat but change feisty references to gutsy this time.
