Hi Bart, the partitions have been GIANT when I let the Installer do
it. Like 120 GB! When I forced it to use mine they were 8 GB and only
Hardy is there. Here is the last load on the serial Hard Drive for your
approval:
karl at karl-desktop:~$ sudo mount -t ext3 /dev/sda6 /mnt
[sudo] password for karl:
karl at karl-desktop:~$ df
Filesystem 1K-blocks Used Available Use% Mounted on
/dev/sda2 7700700 3660412 3649108 51% /
varrun 484788 84 484704 1% /var/run
varlock 484788 0 484788 0% /var/lock
udev 484788 128 484660 1% /dev
devshm 484788 0 484788 0% /dev/shm
/dev/hda9 19236308 7913872 10345284 44% /home
/dev/sda6 8032648 2303736 5320864 31% /mnt
karl at karl-desktop:~$
Observe /dev/sda6 is the Hardy partition It is 30% used.
karl at karl-desktop:~$ cd /mnt
karl at karl-desktop:/mnt$ ls
bin cdrom etc initrd lib media opt root srv tmp var
boot dev home initrd.img lost+found mnt proc sbin sys usr
vmlinuz
karl at karl-desktop:/mnt$
Observe the Hardy load. It looks just great! but when you look at /boot/:
karl at karl-desktop:/mnt$ cd boot
karl at karl-desktop:/mnt/boot$ ls
abi-2.6.24-16-generic memtest86+.bin
config-2.6.24-16-generic System.map-2.6.24-16-generic
initrd.img-2.6.24-16-generic.bak vmlinuz-2.6.24-16-generic
karl at karl-desktop:/mnt/boot$
There is no grub.
