hello all
thanks for all the help so far
as part of trouble shooting the graphics problem on the ubuntu 8.04 desktop
version i reinstalled ubuntu as per suggestions frmo the mailing list but
even that doesnt seem to work.
i already tried the method of installing the restricted packages by logging
into the failsafe gnome mode as this resolution worked for my graphics card
issue with the ubuntu 8.04 server edition
and now i logged in the failsafe gnome to ubuntu 8.04 desktop edition and
put in sudo apt-get install ubuntu-desktop it returns an error which says
could not lock /var/lib/dpkg/lock - open (11 Resource temporarily
unavailable
unable to lock the administration directory (/var/lib/dpkg/) is another
process using it ?
how cud i get this to work and get into my normal desktop.
thnx in advance
don
