The point of what?
At some point this user must learn how to find answers all by
themselves. Why not from the outset?
Why is it more important that lazy newbies get an easy ride than the
not-so-lazy people they're asking?

This list has a greater influx of new people than a number of others
I've been on. It's also got some of the most tolerant people I've come
across on the net on it.
