Hi Gary,

It sounds like you got past the install (took out the disk) and are
booting from your hard drive??  If it is a graphics problem, you may
have booted and not even known it.  You can try pressing Ctrl-Alt-F1
and see if you get a text login screen.  Log in and try to browse to
/var/log/dmesg.  Then read the file with the "less" program to look
for clues.  If "$" is your prompt,

$ cd /var/log
$ less dmesg

spacebar = forward
p = previous
q = quit
