not able to connec to the internet

I have never been able to connect to the internet wirelessly using the
wireless card that came with my computer, but I think it was more intended
for use in Windows. I now just use an ethernet connection, which is fine for
me (I'm using a desktop). Ethernet might work for you as well, but it
depends on many other things, most of which I am not very familiar with.
By the way, if you can't connect to the internet, how did you tell us this?
