X Sensors does nothing

you need to run:

sudo /usr/sbin/sensors-detect

and hit return for every question apart from the last one "Do you want 
to add these lines automatically? (yes/NO)

If you want it to start monitoring straight away instead of after a 
reboot, you'll nedd to do:

sudo modprobe XXX

   - where XXX is the module(s) mentioned  between the ----cut here----
