Or next time set it to limit the rate of the download. Example:

<$ wget -limit-rate=100000
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/dvd/current/hardy-dvd-i386.iso>

for a 1.5MB down DSL. That limits the download speed to 100K/s and
leaves enough bandwidth on the link to do normal browsing, email, etc.

BTW: Just noticed that the above link doesn't want to work with gwget
today (did yesterday) and all I get is "Error:unknown error". On the
other hand wget is working just fine.
