Did you insert the CD while you had Windows running, just so you could 
examine it to see if the files were on it?  Not just the one iso file.

Do you have access to another PC to try the CD on. It's a live CD, so it 
won't hurt anything just to boot from it.

Don't give up. It's worth it.
