Hello Donny

the first thing to try would be to boot in recovery mode.

Shortly after you power-up your computer you will see something like 
"Press [ESC] for boot menu", press your [ESC] button then. Now you will 
get a menu with boot options. Boot the kernel after which is written 
"recovery mode" (second entry, I think). At the end of the boot process 
you will now get a menu with 4 options. Choose the one which mentions 
something like "reconfigure x-server". After that you can let the boot-
process continu to the normal log-in screen and see if it works now.

If this does not work, we will need more information about your hardware.

BTW, did your computer boot without problems from the live-cd, or did you 
install Ubuntu in an other way, and then, how?
