Irrespective of what's happened in the past, the spawning of threads 
beginning with out-of-context replies is going to irritate anyone who 
reads this list with a featureful mail reader.

Just hit 'reply' to the message to which you want to reply, or a message 
in the thread to which you want to post. Threading is done by the 
message ID(s). and the only (sane) way to keep these is to reply to 
messages.
