CDROM issues after 8.04 upgrade

I had similar issues and also have an ide drive that now is being called
'/dev/scd0'.

Since you already have changed /etc/fstab check now the the file:
'/etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-cd.rules'.

I have fixed mine by simply removing it and then rebooted. It will be
recreated with correct content during boot.
But just in case you can keep a backup (use mv instead of rm).
