Wireless network problem after upgrade to 8.04

I thought that it was a stupid comment from a troll so I took no
notice. Your opinion coincides with mine in that it's better to solve
the problem rather than stop using the hardware.
I've still had no success with the wireless, but it now seems to
recognise the wireless network. It doesn't seem to use it, but I get the
network name showing up in the selection app.
I'm off to work again, so I may not be able to fiddle with it for a
few days. I'll get back with results/error messages when I can.
