rsync is bad

That's only part of the job.  Karl mentions fixing up grub and fstab
but that post doesn't say what he did.  There's no mention of creating
mount points such as /proc, /sys, /media, and /mnt.  Hard links are
lost (but probably not fatally).

I have not yet seen any evidence of the alleged rsync bug.
