I tried to add "all_generic_ide" to the boot options, and it helped a
little bit. The installation process proceeded a few packages more
before the CD-ROM reading error happened again. I believe that the
problem is a compatibility issue of the installation program / kernel
with the ServerWorks chipset, because I replaced a brand-new DVD drive
and the installation media 8.04 LTS had been used for multiple server
installation on other machines without any problem.

Can anyone advise how to fix the installation problem? Or I have to wait
for later releases, e.g. 8.04.1 LTS, hoping that the coming release fix
the problem.

Thanks a lot.
