rsync is bad

Karl, you are blaming all and sundry for your problems except yourself.
Did you ever come to think that maybe you used the wrong tool for the
intended job, or used it wrongly? rsync works just fine on probably
hundreds of thousands of machines.

You cannot even give the exact supposed problem you seem to have with
"something" in gtk+, so neither can you expect help nor can you expect
to solve it yourself when you haven't even paid attention to what it is.
