Core Duo SMP Support issue

Hello Sam,
Not an expert, but I have a new AMD64_X2 cpu and
installed the X86_64 package rather than an i686
packages. SMP(SymetricMultiprocessors) indicates dual
processor or core operation and should work for a dual
core processor or simulated on a 64 bit processor. You
might try the X86_64 package as it was coded
specifically for the dual core cpu.
If I'm wrong, Derek or some other expert, will chime
in and correct me. Good luck on you problem.
Also, googling your error message brings several
ubuntu hits on the subject. You may find something to
help there.
