The importance of something is quite individual and/or personal ! ;-)
For you it may not be relevant but for me !! ;-))
An important difference indeed is there:
With GParted 0.3.3 one is not able to label the partitions and
exactly this is what I am missing here beside of ...
... that the newer versions have fixed some bugs and are faster:
On a bootable CD I am already using GParted 0.3.6-7 ;-D

Done already when I downloaded their versions to have mor accurate
CD's ;-)

YEAH, of course one can do all this !
Sometimes indeed one cannot do so, for sample: here !!
That's why I want to upgrade if possible and supported,
i.e. with Synaptic or another approved proceduce !!!

Well, your are correct and with retry I see it too ! ;-)
Well, I am unable too to proof that I haven't gotta an error message
when I tried the first time ;-|
But:
I am still have NO confirmation that this update is / would be possible
and
recommendable !!! ;-|

I am sure, as expert, you'll find in the archive !

Well, Mario, you are correct !
I admit I am not able to deal with Linux / Ubuntu by heart !!
With 7 month the baby isn't born ...
... nor can the baby walk alone within this time too !!! ;-D
But you shouldn't forget:
Already in the 80ies, I was responsible for our own Unix environment
with
a very advanced and promising object oriented office package.
For system purposes I had a system engineer to get done what we wanted.
So today, as a retired IT fossil, for Linux / Ubuntu I am not a crack:
I am a little baby ;-D
Have nice day & cheers, svobi
