Start from the installation media, which is the Desktop CD. This will
start with a full graphical desktop that allows you to explore all
software functions and check that your hardware works, without
installing anything at all (or any other changes to your computer).

You can then decide whether you want to install. If yes, follow the next
step below. If not, just shutdown the computer, remove the CD, and boot
into Windows again.
