I'm intrigued; if you've no experience of Linux (as I infer from the above), what specifically draws you towards Puppy Linux?

Given that the tool you use are likely to be fairly portable (certainly, Puppy Linux cannot assume you are installing always from Puppy Linux), I'd suggest one of their lists would be a better place to ask about the nuances of Puppy Linux on a memory stick on an Eeepc.
