Thinkpad AS mobile access point

Hi,
I am using Hardy on a Thinkpad T43. I am using a treo modem tethered
for Internet access, and I was wondering if anyone has ever used the
built in wifi radio card AS an access point bridge for other wifi
computers to use. I know how to set up Linux as a router (DHCPD/
Shorewall, net-masq, etc...) but I don't know how to configure the
network scripts to make the radio card into an access point.
Can this be done?
Any pointers or how-to's?
Thanks
Rick
