Thx dana and david, but i got the line-in working already, there is simpler way to use the onboard
audio of the tvcard, just not sure how... indeed in this case the audio device is /dev/dsp but i
have to have the line-in cable to be connected otherwise it does not work, any other suggestions
on how to solve this annoying problem?
and david as a radio u should look into fmtools

I have the exact same card without the radio. Mine works fine, except I
use the line in on my sound card. (have no idea how you even got audio
out of the card without this)

What I had to do is create a file in /etc/modprobe.d and called it bttv
with the following:

options bttv card=10 tuner=27

Look at the bttv howto to get the options for the radio part.
Hope this helps some.

Dana

The card has a builtin audio A/D converter. It is driven by the tvaudio driver.
I has a regular /dev/dsp (/dev/snd or whatever it is called these days...) device,
where the audio can be read.

Connecting wires inside the PC is so last century ;-)

(My card is a hauppauge WinTV PCI FM)
(BTW, is there an official radio application on ubuntu ? non official ?)

Regards,
David
