Hm, I might have wasted your time with all the fglrx stuff. When someone
says "ATi", I have automatically started to assume a newer Radeon
Xsomething card.

As your log file shows, you have the Radeon 9200 SE. I am not even sure
that fglrx supports this card, and the fact that insmod failed makes it
quite likely that it doesn't. In any case, there seem to exist quite
many problems with this card, see

Otherwise, the free Radeon driver supports 3D acceleration on the 9200,
