8.04 randomly locks up.

Once lockup occurs, you can't do anything except shut down the computer
by pressing
the power button. It's as though the mouse and keyboard become
disconnected from the computer.
I noticed that the normal cursor symbol changes to a strange looking
capital I when
lockup occurs and it cannot be moved.
