Yes. And a GUI approach to using floppies exists. It's just that Jimmy
demands things that are impossible on the PC platform (sensing of floppy
changes), possibly combined with a little bug in Nautilus (the file
manager).

The way Jimmy behaves is, however, not reasonable.

See my other post that I just sent. The floppy formatter is there, it is
just hidden in the menus by default.
