Some of the common vectors for recent exploits on Windows/IE have come
through compromised flash banner ads. One can throw the baby out with the
bathwater and disable flash completely or one can be a little more fine
grained and disable the flash banner ads while allowing the other flash
content which is probably not going to be compromised.
Whether that would help on KUbuntu is up for mild debate (probably no
difference) but since I'm the lone Linux user in the house it probably does
some good on their windows boxes.
