I would also add 'nodma'.
I'm currently cleaning up a discarded box and seldom find a box that I
can't get Knoppix to boot. However, even Knoppix would freeze part way
through the boot. I finally added nodma and the box booted up just
fine... it's now running Ubuntu with no problems :-)
