Note the comment about the binary versions working without compiling?
IIRC it worked fine on the last box I tried it on (we recently bought an SP500)
although that wouldn't have been a Hardy install.

You might consider coming at it from that angle.

If needed I could try and help out Monday when I'm back at work - I
need to do a little more work on that anyway.
