Firefox locking up

Thanks Jim, that's exactly what was needed. Along the way, I visited
the writeup on Java on 64 bit systems on the ubuntuforums, which
suggested that icedtea might be the way to go, and your contribution
confirmed it. I'm on the NWS java web site looking at Ohio weather
(not that that matters.) Apologies to those of you from Ohio. :)

I did have a (possibly) unrelated minor glitch restarting firefox, so
I made sure any existing firefoxe(s,n) were closed/killed. And then
the java stuff started up like a treat.
