Yes.  I suggested trying ALSA, but only because Pulse _wasn't_ working for
the OP.  I'm a firm believer in trying different things until you get
different results :-)  That _doesn't_ mean I think Pulse is the problem - I
don't actually use it (I don't even know why - I just hate to play with
audio when it is working).
