hardy, and usb drives, does anyone have one that works?

I'm not sure whether yours is the same problem I had with a 120 Gb Lacie
HD, but for what it is worth, I read somewhere that I should try
plugging it into a Windows PC then use the "Safely remove hardware"
procedure. That cured my problem. Both partitions now always appear at
startup.
