Ubuntu relies on on-line repositories.  The CD only contains a default
set of packages for fast install.  Your computer should be on-line to
the Internet and then the package manager will take care of finding
packages for you.

There are alternative methods, but be aware that to put all packages on
discs, for example, takes 6 DVDs
