Well no... I thought I would ask on this list first, in case there is a
known solution, and if not then only I would have turned to Malone.
I alwyas resort to the bug tracker last because in my experience after
nearly 4 years of reporting many dozens of bugs in Ubuntu:

1) Teh search engine is mega crap, searching for bugs in there is such
a horrible experience that I usually give up and file a new bug report
instead.

2) 90% of my bugs are not looked at, or end up being denied saying it's
not a bug but a feature, or just stay inactive for years, or I am told
"push it upstream yourself" (I thought the point of reporting to Ubuntu
was precisely so that the end users do NOT have to open zillions of
accounts in the various upstream bug trackers ?!), or or or...

So I usually prefer to ask on the list first (then maybe a search on
the Ubuntu forums), and only if that's not succesful, do I start to
prepare myself mentally to the painful exercise of venturing into
Malone. ;-)
