Hardy 64 Bit & Flash Issue

Hi Everyone,
Have hardy 64 bit installed, up-to-date and repo
version of flashplugin-nonfree. Removed all traces of
gnash, swfdec and used this link to setup flash:
http://www.myscienceisbetter.info/2008/05/install-adobe-flash-player-10-on-ubuntu-using-nspluginwrapper.html
Now, when on a MyYahoo flash site I get this error
page:
http://cosmos.bcst.yahoo.com/solutions/index.html
If I click this uri on my yahoo, the player pops up
with the normal black player screen but immediately
goes white and doesn't play:
javascript:void(window.open('http://us.rd.yahoo.com/csp/sbc/hp/pcm/video_man_hit_by_lightning_saved_by_outfit/*http://cosmos.bcst.yahoo.com/up/ynews;_ylt=AmWBF8_XbHxdIhlsPhM7pBXcKs0F?ch=4226713&cl=8595599&lang=en','playerWindow','width=793,height=608,scrollbars=no'));
On a Youtube site, I get this error:
"This page contains information of a
type(application/x-shockwave-flash) that can only be
veiwed with the appropriate plugin." The player area
has the little green icon indicating you don't have
the plugin. When I click to download the plugin and
instlall, I get all the way to running
"./flashplayer-installer" and get the error:
ERROR: Your architecture, \'x86_64\', is not supported
by the
Adobe Flash Player installer.
Would copying the "libflashplayer.so" to the Mozilla
plugin dir help any. The appropriate links have been
setup according to the procedure I used in the
provided link. The repo installed flashplugin-nonfree
appears to be the same version as the one the sites
want to install, so I haven't a clue why it doesn;t
work. I've googled this issue til blue in the face
and am amazed at how many different fixes are out
there that don't work. I find that there are as many
users having trouble as there are users using flash
successfully on
\'x86_64\' so I'm assuming it will work on 64 bit
without the 32 bit browser.
Something has happened since the initial 64 bit
install and the current update as I was playing media
on the internet without problems. Ended up having to
install flashplugin-nonfree and others in effort to
fix but no joy.
So, can anyone tell me what to do/try next to get 64
bit flash to work on Ubuntu? Any hints much welcomed
as I'm now at a loss on what to do next. Happy to
supply any other info.
TIA
