NO video picture with Skype (Beta) & Logitech QuickCam Communicate S

Thanks for your feedback & hint/s !

No, connected directly or via the powered USB is the same !

lsusb shows the Webcam like following:
Bus 001 Device 006: ID 046d:08d7 Logitech Inc.
Other entries point to my PDA and Genesys Logic Inc. 

Like this I am quite sure it's a setting problem in my system:
But what and where does a newbie tune ???

OOhh ...
... as a newbie I read about some of your listed apps in this list !
Absolutely no experience just now and if Skype works perfectly 
I am able to work without WIN XP Pro !!
