NO video picture with Skype (Beta) & Logitech QuickCam Communicate S

Hello Ubuntu Skype Users
My Skype (Beta) works quite well, except:

It does NOT show the video picture !

Under options it displays the Webcam as /dev/video0 but 
testing it shows only a black screen !!

>From another PC it is seen that my system's Skype has a cam !!!

What do I need to check and what do I need to change ???
Any hints and suggestions are hot awaited and welcome.
