Hi all,

I have a 40GB USB disk which is NTFS formatted. Is it possible to mount
NTFS usb-drives under Ubuntu Gutsy? Since if I plug the drive in, it
will not automount and If I check dmesg, I find the following errors:

$ dmesg
...
[ 7871.671054] usb 2-1: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and
address 3
[ 7886.773725] usb 2-1: device descriptor read/64, error -110
[ 7901.980357] usb 2-1: device descriptor read/64, error -110
[ 7902.196217] usb 2-1: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and
address 4
[ 7917.298899] usb 2-1: device descriptor read/64, error -110
[ 7932.505521] usb 2-1: device descriptor read/64, error -110
[ 7932.721393] usb 2-1: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and
address 5
[ 7943.122967] usb 2-1: device not accepting address 5, error -110
[ 7943.234949] usb 2-1: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and
address 6
[ 7953.636487] usb 2-1: device not accepting address 6, error -110

lsusb gives:
Bus 002 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 001 Device 002: ID 04b3:3108 IBM Corp. 800dpi Optical Mouse w/
Scroll Point
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
...and thus only recognizes my mouse, but not the drive.

lspci gives:
00:1f.2 USB Controller: Intel Corporation 82801BA/BAM USB Controller #1
(rev 05) (prog-if 00 [UHCI])
00:1f.4 USB Controller: Intel Corporation 82801BA/BAM USB Controller #1
(rev 05) (prog-if 00 [UHCI])

any one has any information on these kinds of errors?

thanks a lot!
