playing movies (DVD)

Hello
    I have two 7.10 systems; one can play movies & one cannot. I cannot
seem to find out why the one fails.

    I am using totem (the rest do not work either) and when a try to
start the movie,
all I get for video is a blue screen.  I do get that very first few bars
that is the "Columbia
 Pictures" splash. Next I get a few bars of some music, that may or may
not be associated with
the movie which is "The Missing".

    Any ideas why this does not work?
