    I kind of remembered seeing it ages ago, and since I've never used 
Gimp in this way I can't comment about how effective it is. However 
there was an expression of favouritism here for Gimp's picture quality 
maintenance, so perhaps Gimp's batch processing may both simplify the 
process and maintain the picture quality. As I said though, I've never 
used Gimp batch processing so I can't comment on how it works or how 
effective/efficient it is but it may be worth a shot.
