Probably for the reason the message says: the USB
connection was intermittently connected and
disconnected either too many times in a row, or over
too long a period, to satisfy a driver mandated
number of bounces limit or "still bouncing" timeout
period for the USB plug into USB jack connection to
stabilize.
This could be caused by:
1) a physical looseness in your connection for the
USB drive, a hardware problem either in the USB plug
or in the matching computer USB jack;
2) a slowness or awkward angle of insertion of the
USB drive plug into the computer USB jack, a human
problem;
3) hardware generated noise in the connection, as by
internal computer static, external static leaking
into the computer in an improperly shielded
connector (_any_ connector) or as caused by a barely
broken wire or circuit board lead that makes
intermittent contact;
4) software generated noise in the connection, a
strange sounding problem, but one I saw repeatedly
in my antique SimplyMEPIS Debian distribution for my
USB mouse port.
I'm sorry that the above list just multiplies your
possible set of problems, but at least it describes
them. There may be others I'm not successful at
imaginging for you.
