I have problem with Ubuntu on Asus laptop.

Sorry, I can't make sense of this.  Connected "directly" to what?  Do you
mean connected by a cable?  Then I guess the wireless isn't working at all. 
otoh, if you were actually "connected with network", then the wireless must
be working.

Just DVDs?  Or CDs as well?  Just media discs, or can you not read data
discs either?

Again, what do you mean by "not right"?  There isn't anything
obviously "wrong" in that list (though, I expect there are things
_missing_).
