Network modem sharing question.

Greetings,

I have a modest home network, my Ubuntu machine (Ethernet) and my wife's 
vista machine (wireless).  I am interested in installing HylaFAX on my 
machine and use the fax-modem on her machine - I don't have a modem.  My 
question is what kind of network modifications do I need to make, to 
even see (access) the vista modem?  Currently I only print and share 
files via samba.
