Surely the changes quoted are only needed when there are 2 hard drives,
one with windows and the other with Ubuntu. I am convinced that Ubuntu
will take care of things provided that the correct procedure is carried
out. First install windows and then install all available up grades. Now
follow with Ubuntu and try to re boot.
