Webcam motion eye 05ca:1837 Ricoh Co., Ltd

Hi all,
I'm a newbie and I've only Linux Ubuntu 7.10 on my Sony laptop
VGN-FZ18M.
I've tried so hard to make work fine my integrated webcam,in the end
I've followed this link:http://www.frank17.it/linux/fz18m.htm 
Now my camera it seems to be recognised,but doesn't work fine with
Camorama,cheese..
Can anyone tell me if I've done all possible or instead I have to do
something else?There is a driver in particular for my type of webcam so
I can use it? I've done many serches but all I've found is this link
