I've been using dyndns for at least 3 years, and I never ever hear from
them except if my IP needs "touching" because it hasn't needed updating
for 35 days or whatever the period is. Doing that update takes a few
seconds...

I'd be interested to see them try to make me pay $400, anyway :) 
a) I rarely have a spare $400 ( the proverb about blood from stones
springs to mind)
b) I live in Australia, so unless they have debt collectors and bailiffs 
in every imaginable country, I suspect that chasing up payments could
be ... unprofitable.

I really think worrying about their terms of service would be my final
step, after wearing my tinfoil hat permanently, and putting a Faraday Cage
around my apartment building ;-)

On the other hand, "everybody hates me because I'm paranoid", so ... I
guess I have a problem here, because I'm not worried...  :D
