OK, I use kppp, so I can't give you step-by-step.

But, somewhere in the configuration, there should be a modem configuration
for USB0.  Here are some helpful settings:

Connect response:  CONNECT   (this should cause your dialog box to close
when it returns CONNECT).
Dial string:  AT+CSQ;D
