Feisty, clean install. I should have mentioned that. Gutsy does not
support my hardware (and yes, I tried anyway and failed, so went back
to Feisty).

Like anything else in life. I should mention that I'm in my second
year in university, so learning is one of my good points.

As the error was "Operation not permitted" I'm assuming that I need to
sudo this, but as this is my work system I am leery about trying sudo
before confirming. Should I sudo those commands?
