I'd point out that money is far from the only reason you would want to do
this.  If you have a few MBs of data you want to routinely copy to CD, you
don't want to create a new disk every time - besides the clutter, it makes
it hard to find the right disc.  If you write a multi-session disc, you can
keep using the same disc for months.

That said, it's an option of the disc-writing software.
