Thunderbird Folder Pane Settings ?

I'd have to boot into windows to see the difference - perhaps you can
post a screen shot(s) somewhere? But perhaps you mean the status? If so,
enable the status bar: View|Toolbars|Status Bar

Bottom right corner should show Unread: x Total: x

To add columns to show in the Message list pane, click on the little
hatch box just to the right of the Subject/Sender/Date etc. You can then
select what else to add or remove.
