I'm not sure how that makes a difference to anything - he _does_ say their
version is customized.

Not if you're doing custom compiles - you'd generally be better off running
a program with security issues than breaking the way your users expect it
to work.  If you have a custom version of any app, you need to stay on top
of the security issues and apply the patches yourself.
